    Eagles made it three straight wins to strengthen their grip on a play-offs place as they out-classed relegation threatened Haven.

    Half-backs Dominic Brambani and Kyle Briggs had good spells and fullback Quentin Laulu-Togagae displayed great timing with tries at crucial points in the game.

    The win give the team a boost ahead of Wednesday night’s game against Rochdale at Sheffield Hallam University’s Sports Park (kick-off 7.30pm).

    Michael Knowles and Peter Green failed tests with Patch Walker and Jack Blagbrough coming in.

    Swinton came back from 30-18 down and might even have snatched victory if they had opted to go for goal with a late penalty on the short Owlerton pitch.

    Eagles bounced back into the play-off race with three tries in the final 20 minutes to claim a vital win at Doncaster.

    Victory lifted them into seventh place in the Championship ahead of back-to-back home games.

    Kyle Briggs, who was switched to stand-off, set up tries that levelled the scores before Scott Turner with his 23rd for the season made the points safe.

    Two tries from Menzie Yere in the second half took the Eagles close but they were always chasing the game.

    The Eagles – who gave a debut to new signing Etu Uaisele – went behind early after two tries in the space of three minutes from winger Wayne Reittie and centre Ben Heaton with Leatherbarrow converting the second.
