    Eagles started to feel at home at Owlerton as they put 10 tries without reply past amateurs East Leeds in the third round of the Challenge Cup.

    It was the first win back at the stadium but was marred the loss of teenage half-back Cory Aston, son of coach Mark, with a suspected broken collar bone in the second half.

    At times the Eagles lacked urgency but they had the extra pace to regularly find gaps and keep the score moving with Misi Taulapapa outstanding and Quentin Laulu-Togagae always a threat.

    Winger Scott Turner scored a hat-trick of tries as the Eagles got their season off to a winning start at Swinton Lions.

    The Championship title holders were made to work hard in the first 40 minutes but put the game to bed with a burst of tries midway through the second half.

    The squad included five new signings, three on season-long loans from Salford; centre Jon Ford, back rower Will Hope and hooker Gareth Owen plus Ben Jones (Dewsbury) and Jack Blagbrough (Huddersfield).
